Before making a final decision on studying abroad you need to consider if programs are internationally recognized. So the answer to that question is yes. All GEA College programs are internationally recognized and compliant with the Bologna system of higher education. They are also accredited by SQAA (Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education) and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Slovenia.
What is the Bologna Process?
The Bologna Process, launched with the Bologna Declaration of 1999, defines the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and is implemented in 49 European states.
What is a Bologna degree?
The Bologna Process is the standardization of European higher education. It specifies an undergraduate degree of at least three years as the ‘license’ or bachelor’s degree, followed by a two-year diploma called 1 master’s degree, then a doctorate, which is to be obtained over at least three years.
Does the Bologna system matter only in Europe?
It does not. The Bologna process has successfully promoted recognition and attracted a lot of interest in the world outside of Europe. Universities everywhere are adopting credit-based systems. The system helps universities to prepare graduates for work in an increasingly competitive and globalized environment.
GEA College – Faculty of Entrepreneurship is accredited in Slovenia according to the Slovenian higher education standards, the Higher Education Act, and Bologna principles. The same accreditation standards are in place for other higher education institutions (public or independent), and the Slovene Agency for Quality Assurance (SQAA – NAKVIS) performs accreditation processes for all HEI. Once accredited, all institutions are included in the official register of Slovenian higher education institutions and study programs.
