TOPIC: Increasing the role of HEI in enhancing future skills for global markets

ISW will be implemented in partnership with UAS Baltazar Zaprešič from Croatia; Ignacy Mościcki University of Applied Sciences in Ciechanów from Poland; Institute Polytecnic of Cávado and Ave from Portugal; SMK University of Applied Sciences from Lithuania; International Business School from Bulgaria; Tallinn University from Estonia; University of Craiova from Romania; Sveučilište Vern from Croatia; Wroclaw University of Economics and Business Poland; Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra from Portugal and Kazimierz Pułaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom from Poland.


International Staff Week at GEA College – Faculty of Entrepreneurship will address the much needed topics, relevant to the role of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in enhancing and promoting future, innovative skills for global market. The agenda will feature a set of workshops, round tables and discussions with an additional tourisitic experience. The International Staff Week is part Blended Intensive Program under Erasmus+ programme.

Focus points:

  • featuring unique and various course content, providing practical knowledge, skills and innovative practices needed for labour market;
  • investigating future skills trend in career and educational environement 
  • evaluation the role of non pedagogical staff (Career centers, international office etc.) and pedagogical staff in HEI
  • promotion of new labour skills
  • digital transformation, globalization and  inclusiveness agenda
  • comprehensive touristic experience with trips and excursions – exploring Ljubljana and Slovenia.

Who can apply?

International Staff Week 2023 is designed for all staff that is dealing with students (supporting offices, lecturers etc.). All interested candidates working within HEI are welcome. Lecturers can also opt to hold additional lectures upon advance notice.

When?

Reserve your time  from Monday, April 17  till Friday, April 21, 2023.

The International Staff Week course content is a 5-day programe (Monday – Friday). However, we have provided you with two additional days for arrival and depature.

Monday, 17.04.2023: INTRODUCTION TO HOST INSTITUTION

Skills learned: Introduction to HEI, support and education environment for students in HEI. Presenting the existing practices and setting the goals for the week.

Tuesday, 18.04.2023: ROLE OF NON-PEDAGOGICAL STAFF: CAREER CENTERS

Skills learned: Role of support environment in enhancing new future labour market skills.

Wednesday, 19.4.2023: IT COMMUNICATION TOOLS FOR FUTURE SKILLS IN GLOBAL MARKETS

Skills learned: Learn how to use IT and communication tools to recognize trends in global market skills. Understand the key importance of IT and digital communication tools and the related practices and approaches needed to implement the global market skills.

Thursday, 20.04.2023: ROLE OF PEDAGOGICAL STAFF: CONTEMPORARY TEACHING CHALLENGES

Skills learned: mprove your teaching skills. Gain valuable insight and practical strategies for addressing common teaching challenges. Share good practises and re-invent the teaching methods for new generations.

Friday, 21.4.2023: FUTURE SKILL TRENDS IN PRACTICE AND WRAP UP

Skills learned: Recognize future skill trends in practice and set the future goals for promotion of global market skills.

Saturday, 22.4.2023: Departures

Virtual component will be added to the program. Detailed agenda with timeline will be provided to applicants.

Exploring of Ljubljana and Slovenia

Besides the innovative programe participants of GEA College International Staff Week 2023 will also get the chance to explore Slovenia and its capital. Ljubljana was crowned with title of Best European Destination in 2022 and is known for its vibrant city life. Magnificent Ljubljana castle is representing rich history and culture of the city. To get away from city life students will get the opportunity to visit also Slovene coastal towns as well as unique island of Bled.

Minimum number of participants for the International Staff Week 2023 is 15. Should the number or received applications be lower than 15, the organizer may implement the right to change the dates, content or cancel the International Staff Week. All candidates will be duly informed on the preparation of the International Staff Week 2023 and any possible alterations.

COVID-19 Clause: The organizer is exercising the right to make all necesarry changes to the content, dates, prices or any other part, important for implementation of the International Staff Week in case of “force majeure” related to COVID-19 situation.
