Opportunities for Staff

The Erasmus+ program offers lecturers and non-teaching staff the opportunity to gain international experience, acquire new knowledge, and build valuable references that contribute to their professional and personal development. Participation in mobility programmes allows for the exchange of best practices and experiences with foreign institutions, enhancing the quality of work and enriching the educational process.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Teaching Mobility (STA): Lecturers can teach at partner institutions abroad, engaging with students and academic staff. This experience helps them gain new insights, enhance teaching methods, and develop new study programmes. Hosting foreign professors at GEA College also enriches the learning experience for students. Requirement: A minimum of 8 hours of teaching per week.

  • Training Mobility (STT): Non-teaching staff can participate in training at foreign institutions, acquiring new skills and experiences that they can implement in their work. This contributes to better work processes and increased efficiency in their field.

Erasmus+ mobility is available to both employees and external collaborators under specific conditions:

  • Employees: Academic and non-teaching staff can participate if the mobility aligns with an educational or training plan that is recognized by the faculty as beneficial for personal and institutional development.
  • External Collaborators: Lecturers and professionals who are not in permanent employment can also participate, as long as their involvement aligns with mobility objectives and institutional needs.
  • Programme Countries: Mobility lasts from a minimum of 2 days to a maximum of 60 days. Guest lecturers from businesses can participate in one-day visits.
  • Partner Countries: Mobility lasts from a minimum of 5 days to a maximum of 60 days. The same rule applies—guest lecturers from businesses can participate in one-day visits.

Staff Mobility Process

Experiences from our staff

Mitja Jeraj, Instituto Politecnico de Santarem (Santarem, Portugal, May 2023) – Teaching mobility
The mobility experience was incredible. We had many lectures and discussions on important topics such as artificial intelligence, authorship issues related to ChatGPT, and today’s business landscape in connection with AI. The group consisted of around 50 participants from across Europe, which further broadened my perspective, as we were constantly engaging in discussions and exchanging ideas.

Dario Berginc, Bratislava University of Economics and Management – BUEM (Bratislava, Slovakia, April 2023) – Teaching mobility
A very positive experience with a diverse programme, professors and students from seven different countries, and a focus on environmentally oriented topics such as circular economy. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, making the experience even more enriching.

As part of the Erasmus+ international staff exchange, I visited Pamukkale University in Denizli, Turkey, from March 13 to 17, 2023. Exploring a university with over 45,000 students, 21 faculties, and 17 higher education schools was a wonderful experience. I gained additional knowledge, new experiences, best practices, and valuable professional connections.

Polona Novak, Lahti University of Applied Sciences (Lahti, Finland, April 2023) – Training mobility
Visiting LAB University in Lahti, Finland—a small town by a large lake, just an hour by train from the capital—was a truly enriching experience. The mobility took place in a welcoming and professional environment within their modern facilities, which are aesthetically pleasing, functionally designed, and digitally well-equipped. I was particularly impressed by the variety of spaces dedicated to lectures, work, study, and socializing. LAB University offers numerous programs, valuable expertise, and strong support that every student would appreciate. Nearly a quarter of the students are international, and they are warmly welcomed into the community. Learn more about the university here: https://www.lab.fi/en.
