Opportunities for Growth and Networking

GEA College – Faculty of Entrepreneurship participates in numerous research projects and the projects aimed at development of new and innovative educational content. This helps us build our international connections. Carefully selected project topics facilitate the professional development of higher education teachers and the supporting services of the Faculty.

Present and involved
International connection
Theory becomes practice

Involvement of students and graduates

Our projects often involve our students and graduates, who can participate in the project activities as:

  • Active task implementers and problem solvers, for example, addressing company challenges.
  • Target groups for research planned within the projects.
  •

The results of our projects are integrated into the study process. Project results are often new educational programmes, case studies that are used in classes, new business tools that are tested by our students and users.

International dimension and fresh perspectives

Guest lecturers and experts involved in the projects bring:

  • New perspectives on the Slovenian and European economic environment.
  • Insight into the intercultural and ethical dimensions of business.

Each guest expert contributes an important piece to the mosaic of knowledge and competencies offered by the faculty.

Link between theory and practice

Participation in projects enables a close integration of theoretical knowledge with practical experience, ensuring that the study process remains current, relevant, and future-oriented.

In this way, GEA College strengthens its role as a hub of knowledge, research, and innovation, shaping future entrepreneurs and business professionals.

Friendly Informal Immersive Cloud Alternative ( FII;)CA ) – DISCOVER, PLAY, SOCIALISE

Friendly Informal Immersive Cloud Alternative (FII;)CA) – DISCOVER, PLAY, SOCIALISE
(Project number 2023-1-BE02-KA220-HED-000159576)
(October 1, 2023 – September 30, 2026)

At FII;)CA, we explore an intriguing question: “How can one enjoy a virtual coffee?” While you cannot physically drink a virtual cup, we aim to recreate the essence of ‘fika’ in a virtual reality environment. The project’s objective is to explore social virtual reality platforms, discover their capabilities and limitations, and guide students in designing meaningful scenarios and virtual spaces for social activities, encouraging new ways of connection and interaction. Students first develop scenarios in their home country and then, during an intensive week, collaborate with international students to refine scenarios on relaxation (Kokkola, Finland, 2024), education (Malaga, Spain, 2025), and entrepreneurship (Porto, Portugal, 2026).

The project is a collaboration between:

  • ARTESIS PLANTIJN HOGESCHOOL ANTWERPEN, Belgium – LEAD
  • Instituto Superior Politécnico Gaya, Portugal
  • UNIVERSIDAD DE MALAGA, Spain
  • GEA College – Faculty of Entrepreneurship, Slovenia
  • TURUN AMMATTIKORKEAKOULU OY, Finland

Green Tech Entrepreneurship Challenge Hub for work-based learning – (GTECH), project number ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CB-VET
(December 1, 2023 – November 30, 2025)

The project aims to build the capacity of secondary vocational education teachers and promote entrepreneurship and innovation in green technologies among students in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH). Within the project, we have established a challenge-based learning platform – “Challenge Hub,” which enables innovation challenge competitions. At GEA College, we have prepared video content and a curriculum that allows students to acquire the necessary knowledge to compete on the platform. We have also conducted practical training for 30 teachers from BiH on teaching methods for new generations and entrepreneurship.

(January 1, 2025 – May 31, 2025)

The GEA-OOPI project enables students from various programs and disciplines to acquire key competencies, such as critical thinking, digital, entrepreneurial, and intercultural skills by solving a concrete, complex challenge faced by the company Incom d.o.o.  and the social enterprise Knof so.p..
The challenges posed by workplace partners Incom d.o.o. and Knof so.p. are complex and require teamwork among students with different knowledge and skills, mirroring real-world work environments. In this project, we simulate a complex task representative of demanding challenges encountered by employees in the workplace. GEA-OOPI provides students with the opportunity to develop competencies with continuous monitoring and support from mentors.

For more information about the project and participation opportunities in GEA OOPI, you can also contact Lina Malovič (lina.malovic@gea-college.si).

The project is co-financed under the Public Call for Integration into the Work Environment 2024-2027 (original title in Slovene Javni razpis PUŠ v delovno okolje 2024-2027.
