Free Training for Teachers and Mentors at the Young Entrepreneur Competition
Free Training for Teachers – Mentors at the Young Entrepreneur Competition
We invite all teachers who will be mentoring students for the 29th National Young Entrepreneur Competition to participate in a free workshop led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mitja Jeraj. The workshop is designed to inform mentors, focusing on the preparation of a Feasibility Study, which students submit for evaluation by the competition’s jury. The workshop will take place online on December 3, 2024, at 14:00.
Workshop Content: Feasibility Study and Business Idea Evaluation
A feasibility study helps determine whether it is worth pursuing a business idea without committing significant resources.
Starting and running a business involves challenges and risks, but these risks can be mitigated by validating the business idea beforehand. The feasibility study is a process of evaluating the viability of the business idea, serving as an initial assessment before deciding on its implementation.
The feasibility study addresses seven key questions:
- What is the product?
 - Is there a market? What does it look like?
 - What is our market potential?
 - How can we enter the market?
 - What qualifications/resources do I have? What more do I need?
 - What personal traits are required?
 - Do I truly want to pursue this? Can I work alone, or is a team necessary?

By conducting a feasibility study, we can assess the viability of a business idea without prematurely investing resources.
Key Areas Covered in the Feasibility Study:
Topics Covered in the Online Workshop:
- Preliminary validation and evaluation of business ideas – its importance in deciding whether to execute a business idea
 - The feasibility study as a tool for business idea validation and its differences from a business plan
 - Case studies and examples
 - Assessing the usefulness of the feasibility study in high school teaching and fostering entrepreneurship among students

Workshop Goals:
- Understand the importance of using various tools for preliminary business idea validation and apply the feasibility study to assess business ideas from the perspectives of business concept, product, industry/market, resources, and finance.
 - Learn how to use different tools to assess business ideas before deciding to move forward with them, with the aim of motivating and inspiring high school students to pursue entrepreneurship.
 - Encourage high school teachers to incorporate various entrepreneurial tools into their teaching process, particularly in generating ideas, developing concepts, and validating business ideas.
