What our students say about studying at GEA College

Semen Kravchuk, Student of Entrepreneurship and Management
"GEA College is for people who prefer hands-on learning over theoretical study and textbooks. The part-time Entrepreneurship and Management programme allows you to work in a company or develop your own business idea simultaneously, for example, at the GEA College Incubator. The programme is designed to help you develop the key entrepreneurial skills essential in today’s job market. If you choose GEA College, don’t miss out on short-term or long-term exchange opportunities—they are truly unforgettable experiences."
Semen Kravchuk, Student of Entrepreneurship and Management
Haruki Saito, International Programme Student at GEA College
"I chose the international programme so that I could go abroad in the future. Studying in English has greatly improved my language skills, and I have met many students from different countries since we study alongside Erasmus students. The international programme is a fantastic opportunity to build relationships and friendships with people from all over the world."
Haruki Saito, International Programme Student at GEA College
Matevž Popit, Student of Information and Cybersecurity
"Studying Information and Cybersecurity at GEA College has given me great insight into modern security solutions and necessary improvements for better protection against cyber threats. Many of the professors come from strong organizations and are eager to share their knowledge, experience, and opinions. The study programme is interesting and dynamic but not overwhelming. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to work in this field."

Frequently Asked Questions

Lectures are tailored to the selected program. The regular program mostly takes place daily in the mornings, while in the higher years, students can choose subjects that may also be scheduled in the afternoon. The part-time study is designed for students with work obligations, so lectures are held in the afternoons. Usually, once a week, and on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. However, the exact lecture schedule in the part-time study depends on the choice of elective courses.

To be admitted to the 1st year, you need to have completed a vocational or general matura, or a final exam in any four-year secondary school program. It is not necessary to complete the fifth subject, as the vocational matura is sufficient.

Candidates who have completed equivalent education abroad also meet the admission requirements. Those with a recognition or nostrification decision must submit the relevant documents along with the decision to the faculty, following the provided instructions.

For more detailed information about the admission requirements and procedures, please refer to the section on the website where these conditions are clearly outlined for each study program.

The structure of exams and the academic year depends on the chosen study program and study mode.

For regular studies, exams are held in two exam periods. The academic year is divided into two semesters. In the first semester, lectures are held from October to the end of January or early February, followed by the winter exam period, which focuses on studying and taking the first set of exams. After the winter exam period, the second semester begins, with lectures and then the summer exam period. If students pass the exams in the first exam period, they can finish the academic year by the end of June, and additional exam periods are scheduled throughout the entire academic year.

For part-time studies, the program is conducted in parallel, with students attending two to three courses at the same time. Each course ends with an exam. Once all exams are completed, new courses begin, followed by more exams, until all courses for the year are completed.

The study mode and exam structure may vary depending on the chosen study program, the mode of study (online or in-person), and individual student preferences. For more information, feel free to contact us, and we would be happy to discuss which study program and mode would be most suitable for you.

Each lecturer has their own method of delivering content. Most of them explain the material using slides, which are uploaded to the e-learning platform, and also provide additional materials for successful study. Students also have different approaches to studying – some take notes on laptops, while others prefer to write on traditional paper.

At the beginning of the academic year, students can choose to borrow materials from the faculty library. The work methods and materials are tailored to each individual course, allowing students to effectively master the content and prepare for exams.

Study practice is mandatory and must be completed by the end of the 3rd year, but students can also complete it in the 2nd year if they wish. It is important that the practice is relevant to the study program – for example, a student studying Digital Marketing cannot count work in a grocery store as practice.

If a student is already doing student work in the 1st year that is related to their study program (e.g., in a marketing agency), they can count this as practice, but it must follow certain protocols and rules. Details about this are clearly outlined in the e-learning platform.

At GEA College, we place a strong emphasis on authentic relationships – here, students are not just a number, but a person with a name, surname, and ambitions.
